about sage massage

sage massage therapy was founded in 2002 in Philadelphia, and moved to Brooklyn New York in 2009. sage aims to provide a 'safer space' that is trauma informed and welcomes the LGBTQIA2 community and allies. Specialties include acute and chronic musical-skeletal injuries, scar tissue release, binding and tucking pain, pre and post operative care, pre and post natal care, trauma support, grief work and spiritual guidance. sage blends modalities from eastern and western schooling, while pulling from Native American lineage to offer a session unique to the client’s needs that day.

Founder and practitioner devynn emory is a transgendernonconforming mixed race person who began this journey as a dancer and choreographer. Through rigorous training and performing, tending to injuries through various modalities became a daily intimacy. devynn received a license in western massage focusing on injury prevention and care while working in hospitals, gyms, and chiropractic offices in PA. Later devynn moved to New York, studying massage and bodywork though and Eastern perspective including energy work and meridian balancing. Most recently devynn completed schooling to become a Registered Nurse to expand the toolbox. All of this work is pulled from to create a unique session for each individual.
